Grand Organic is taking an important step toward developing a smart organic farm by integrating Internet of Things (IoT) technology into the production of high-quality organic amaranth. The initiative aims to improve production efficiency, enhance crop quality consistency, and create greater value for Thailand’s agricultural raw materials.
Grand Organic Co., Ltd. is embarking on an important milestone in its journey toward becoming a Smart Organic Farm through a project focused on developing a high-quality organic amaranth production system. The project integrates Internet of Things (IoT) technology to monitor and track environmental conditions inside greenhouses, supporting systematic farm management and improving production efficiency.
The project has received support from the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) through the Industrial Technology Assistance Program (ITAP). Grand Organic is co-investing in the development and practical implementation of technology tailored to the farm’s actual production requirements.
From Organic Farming Experience to Data-Driven Management
With more than 10 years of experience in organic farming, Grand Organic has remained committed to improving agricultural production processes to deliver high-quality raw materials that can be further developed into healthy food products.
One of the key challenges in organic agriculture is maintaining consistent product quality, planning production volumes, and managing environmental conditions to support optimal plant growth.
The adoption of IoT technology to monitor data such as temperature, humidity, and greenhouse environmental conditions marks the beginning of a more data-driven approach to farm management. By integrating scientific data into decision-making, Grand Organic aims to improve operational efficiency and establish a foundation for future production system development.
Connecting Organic Agriculture, Research, and Food Processing Industries
Grand Organic believes that Thai organic agriculture has the potential to generate value beyond the sale of fresh agricultural produce, particularly when agriculture is connected with research, technology, and food processing industries.
Developing high-quality and consistent organic amaranth is an important step toward creating opportunities in healthy food products and the future food industry. It also supports greater value creation for Thailand’s agricultural products.
At the same time, the transition to smart farming requires investment, specialized knowledge, and continuous development. Collaboration among government agencies, researchers, and business operators therefore plays a vital role in ensuring that technology can be applied in real-world farming operations and become more accessible to small-scale farmers and businesses.
The First Step Toward the Future of Smart Organic Farming
For Grand Organic, this project represents the beginning of a journey of learning, experimentation, and continuous improvement. The company aims to develop a production system suited to the farm’s specific needs while generating practical knowledge that can support the future development of organic agricultural production.
Grand Organic would like to express its sincere appreciation to the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and all participating team members for their support and collaboration in initiating this innovation project.
Grand Organic remains committed to advancing organic agriculture through technology and innovation, with the goal of producing high-quality raw materials, increasing the value of agricultural products, and contributing to the sustainable development of Thailand’s agricultural sector.
